GE HealthCare Releases bkActiv S Series Intraoperative Ultrasounds

GE HealthCare has launched the bkActiv S series of intraoperative ultrasounds. Part of the bkPortfolio of Active Imaging systems, bkActive S series ultrasounds are meant for interventional guidance during urology, colorectal, and pelvic floor procedures.

The company said the new ultrasounds enable clear visualization of anatomical structures to support decisions and outcomes. It features a modern interface an Prostate Volume Assist (PVA), an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven tool that automates processes and streamlines worfklows.

bkActiv S series’ TruSense technology and customizable options let users personalize a preferred layout. Smart Button transducer technology lets users select from a variety of functionalities to elevate control and flexibility to use the system with one hand.

Image Compare mode lets clinicians retrieve a stored image and view it alongside a live ultrasound image for real-time comparisons and measurements. The ultrasound’s PRISM technology includes the TruFocus algorithm to auto-optimize images for detail and clarity.

Adaptive Noise Suppression reduces noise to enable deeper visualization with haziness and automatically adjust gain levels during imaging.

Last week, the company revealed the combination of its proprietary features and algorithms with MIM Encore. The implementation brings new features to healthcare organizations using GE HealthCare systems alongside MIM software with MIM Encore.
